Rotary Clubs mark World Polio Day

On the occasion of World Polio Day marked on 24 October, five Rotary Clubs in Sri Lanka jointly held a major awareness rally on 13 October. The event was organised by the Rotary Clubs of Colombo, Wattala, Ja-Ela-Kandana, Pamunugama, and Negombo New Generation. Hundreds of vehicles participated in the rally, which proceeded from Wattala to Negombo, with various activities organised to raise funds for the polio eradication programme. Rotary International sponsored the event, which aimed to provide financial support to the World Health Organization's polio eradication efforts and raise awareness about the cause in Sri Lanka.
